Birch Hill Doxies Champions

"The official term for dog shows is conformation — as in, the act of conforming or producing conformity. While a dog show may look like a beauty pageant, it's not. Dogs are not being compared to each other; they're being measured by how closely they conform to the standard of their particular breed."  ~American Kennel Club
AKC Champion and Grand Champion titles mean that the dog has been seen by many experts in how a dachshund should be built and move. It is not a “beauty contest”, rather an evaluation as to how the dog compares to the breed standard.   AKC Grand Champions have the opportunity to become Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Grand Champions. For Bronze level, a dog must achieve 100 Grand Champion points; Silver requires 200, Gold 400 and Platinum 800+ points.
